Our day out - Saturday 9th July 2011

This is my first upload using You Tube - a slideshow about our day out to see the Tall Ships event at the James Watt Dock and quaysides. Over 57 ships, fantastic stage performances, stalls and fairground - entertainment for the whole family. I loved hearing Yvonne Lyon sing and seeing Sam with Captain Jack Sparrow ;) but best of all those beautiful sailing ships - graceful lines, miles of rigging and huge masts.
Will get round to visiting asap :)

I absolutely love tall ships...or as I always call them, pirate ships! lol I would have been in my glory seeing so many of them all in one spot!! Looks to have been a fun and beautiful day, Sam certainly looked like he was enjoying himself:-) As for Captain Jack Sparrow...oh be still my heart! hehe A couple of years ago, while in Toronto, we went on a tall ship 2 hour cruise and I can't describe how wonderful it was. Another good thing too, I wasn't made to walk the plank! lol xoxo

Dear Sarah ~~ Loved seeing your video, how clever you are. The ships and the scenery were great. It looks a lovely place to live.
You sure are busy at present minding little Olwyn while her Mum is at University summer school. Did you get to take the kids to the sea-life centre?
Thanks for your comments about my health which has improved - thanks
for caring my friend. Glad you liked the women over 40 jokes.
Take great care dear Sarah, you are
a dear friend. Love, Merle.

Pea - I bet you would have walked the plank just for the fun of it anyway ;) I would love to go on an actual Tall Ship cruise- you lucky thing! xx
Merle - Yes things are certainly busy and yes we did go to the Sea Life Centre today- had to drive past 4 lochs to get there though- beautiful scenery and although we had the odd spot of rain the day turned out to be a good one. xx

great video! I see you got a picture of the kayakers in too, the club always goes out on the water at tall ships, I've never been though... too many crowds for me.. looks like you had a good day out.
