Hoots Mon!

As you know it was the Highland Games weekend and from Friday morning through to the firework finale the town just bubbled with excitement, enthusiasm and camaraderie. Below l have linked to quite a few short videos (on my other site) so that you can hear the bagpipes and get a gist of what the atmosphere was like. I was thinking of you all as l took the photographs and videos.
HERE is a pic of Sam in Highland hat as a wee laddie :)
One slideshow below is of the people gathering to watch the bands make their final walk down from the park. This last parade though the town is always the highlight for me as you get to see the shields/trophies and also the lighter spirits of the band members after competition. At this point l got kissed (slobbered over) by the big man dressed in drag much to the amusement of the crowd- you can see him wearing his long black wig on the first slideshow help!- he left me covered in lipstick! The other slideshow has some of the bands marching past just before the firework display.

I got home late last night from the big trip into the city with my son 'D' and all his stuff- he has now moved into his apartment for his second year at university. I will post more pictures of that later. I dropped by to see my Dad as well on route so was a bit sad leaving them both.
Our car is also in the garage today getting a full-service so l’m watching the clock here so that l can pick it up before they close.
So much to do these days and just not enough time! I am missing checking in with you all but will ASAP. Thanks always for taking the time to drop by. Hope you’re all keeping well.

Hello, dear friend! Just finished reading all your comments and had to come over and thank you for stopping in. I love love LOVE your slide shows, Sarah! What was so surreal is spotting a Blockbuster Video store in one of them, ha! I didn't know THAT American store had gotten to the UK, too...sheeeesh. Sam is so cute...I'd take him home in a minute. I hope he's adapting well to school? And are you getting along ok now, too? The last one off to school is such a bittersweet time, isn't it? Such lovely news about you and your hubby, where you've been going the last two weeks. Just remember...it's NOT about the people. If I can ever be an "ear" for you, never hesitate to email and I'll be there for you. (((((((HUGS)))))))

Horizon,
Sam looks so dashing in his kilt! My husband has ties in his family's clan pattern and I have a scarf but he doesn't have a kilt......

I hope your Dad is well....treasure each day with your parents and siblings....they can be gone so quickly.....

Thank you for the visit with me today and the sweet comments...They mean so much to me and you are a dear, sweet friend....a big hug to you.....Betty

Have to agree with Kris about the Blockbuster Video store! They are truly multi national!!! I'm blown away by all the different tartans (should that be pluralised?)! We were there on Saturday but our new(new to us)little car collapsed and died in the parking lot behind the main street and had to be towed away to Stewarts! We took a taxi home (early) but we'll be sure to catch the fun next year! In the meantime, I can watch your fabulous videos! What a gorgeous little man wee S is. Something they don't warn you about in the 'Mom' manual is when they leave the nest!

Hi Sarah ~~ I so enjoyed your posts and slides of the Highland Games.
We have Blockbuster in Australia too.
Sam looked like he was having a great time; It doesn't seem a year since your sister visited you although she has had another baby.
Thank you for your comments about the African children's story and their
miracle. Such faith, puts us older ones to shame. Glad you enjoy the jokes. Take care my friend, Love,
Merle.

In answer to your question on my blog.
I do not have a mac I have a regular pc. My husband bought a movie board(circuitboard) to add to my computer. It's called Studio MovieBoard Plus PCI by Pinnacle I have no idea how much this thing cost but all I have to do is plug in a VHS tape (the video player is hooked up to the computer) put in a DVD disk into the computer and push a little capture button. The video plays and is burned onto a DVD at the same time. You can edit the movie if you want to. I have been burning things straight to disk.
