Midnight Mumbles

I am still up this evening and have been able to catch up with most of my blogging friends. My heart however has also been heavy with thoughts of Daniel leaving home. The moon has drifted across the sky tonight and it has been indeed soothing to watch. Life on the other hand has an unfortunate habit of rushing by too fast ~ there is always so much to do with deadlines to meet and before you know it another week has passed.
When l returned from America l was happy to settle back into a slower pace of life again but tell me, where has it disappeared to?
Thank goodness for a constant moon.
Good night all.

Hello Dear Horizon...

Oh! I do understand how heavy your heart is with thoughts of Daniel going away to University. The old saying is very true - ‘They make your arms ache when they are babies and your heart ache when they are older’.

We experienced the same when grand daughter Laura took a year out to go travelling around Asia and now she will be heading off to Brighton University very shortly, so its heavy hearts for us all again. I guess this is a consequence of loving and caring so much, but believe me, it will get easier for you when you see him settled in and enjoying life. You’ll enjoy his visits home so much too, have fun thinking how special you can make them.

That really is bad news about the council painting yellow lines in front of your property and now you have to dig up part of your front garden. Fortunately we have a driveway, but many cottages in the village don’t and are compelled to park on the road. This causes great problems of congestion, the main road through the village is very narrow, so when a tractor comes along you can imagine the problem it causes.

Try not to worry too much. Love - Marion

I still remember a conversation between my friend's parents about their daughter leaving home for a boarding school (she overheard and told us about it). The mom said: She's going away from us. We'll lose her forever after this.
The dad: Be prepared. She is spreading out her wings to the world. She'll never be the same. But she'll always be the same in our heart. And we'll always have each other.

He'll always be yours, Horizon!

One of the most important things anyone ever told me, when The Child was newborn, was to "pay attention because it goes so fast". Truer words were never spoken. My heart is with you. It's our job to let them go but it sounds better on paper.

Sue is going to think I'm a stalker. I'm been turning up two comments behind her all evening.

Hi again Sue!!

It was the hardest when my youngest one left and now he's the one I'm closest to.

Odd how things work out.

Glad you're rested.

Your musings bring back memories of when our Andrew left for college in '91 (I think it was). My hubby said farming was never as much fun anymore after he left. He missed his company and great help.
Andrew talked to me more then (on the phone) than he ever had before...told me about girlfriends, etc. He even asked for a recipe once to cook for a girfriend..what a surprise that was! I felt I got to know him much better during those college days while he was seeking new horizons. What a sweet son he is. And now he's a father of two, and such a wonderful dad.

So you see, this can be a good thing too, even though you'll miss Daniel so much. A new world is opening for him, but you'll still be close in his heart, and he in yours.
