Dad

My Dad took a fall last night, cracking his head quite badly- he had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance. Although now back home and in bed he is still recovering from the shock of it all. Thankfully he did not fracture his skull, however he did have to have the cut in his head stapled together – ouch! Dad’s humour always shines through and even in this he is whipping up the usual witty remarks about the whole thing.
We are heading up to see Dad tomorrow, taking the kids and picking up Daniel also along the way. It will be a good surprise but for obvious reasons we will keep it short. l just want to give him a cuddle.
l was looking through old disks tonight to post a photo of Dad and came across one that l like from 2001. He looks so well in this photo but the truth is that in the past 5 years his health has much deteriorated.
l can't sleep tonight for thinking about him. There are so very many good thoughts that are going around in my head about times shared with Dad and of the person he is. We are very alike.

Time moves on so quickly and moments are so very precious.
Bests for now.

Oh dear, things like this can be so scary, especially when it is someone who means so much to us. What a relief he is home and my prayers will be for a speedy recovery. :) We all have to cherish every moment, as life is so precious and we just never know. How sweet that all of you are going up to cheer him on. ((hugs to you all))

I hope your dad gets better soon and have a safe journey to see him. At the expense of time a lot of people crave for more money but in the end which has the most value. Time is precious so best not waste it. So you do right to visit your dad or anyone else you've a mind too, the work will still be there tomorrow.

Oh, I hope your dad mends quickly, that sounds like a very scary fall. Have fun visiting with him, it's so nice you are able to see him. My parents are each 1000 miles away. I often think what will I do if there is an emergency and they are so far away.

Take care, have a good weekend.

(((Horizon))) I'm so glad you're going to see him tomorrow...I wish I could still hug my dad, I miss him so much even after 26 years since his death. We tend to take our parents for granted at times. I pray that he will recover fully from his fall...I'm sure he'll love seeing you and the children!! Love the pictures! Big hugs my friend xoxo

Oh your poor dad! I do hope he recovers quickly. A visit from you and your 'crew' should cheer him up.
Your do look very much alike. I love all 3 of these pictures. What a cute little fellow your dad was :) And you, of course, were adorable with your sweet smile.
He does look cuddly :)

please give him a hug from me and the kids also, feels frustrating not to be close enough to see him. I had the best time years ago staying up in Glasgow with him for weekends. I think I got his cheeky sense of humour.

I lost my Dad earlier this year. I also had a very complicated relationship with him all my life. I am so happy to hear the one you share with your Dad is sweet and close...that is such a blessing in itself. I hope you all find him in good spirits and feeling much better. I will pray for traveling mercies for you all! (((HUG)))

I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of your Dad falling and hurting his head!! My prayer is for a complete and speedy recovery! (My Mom fell last year and broke her hip, took a long time to heal, but she is fine today!!)

Take heart. because I have seen so many instances where parents have rejuvenated themselves and I really hope your Dad can experience this as well. I've left a post above. All my very best!
