I was visiting Sue’s blog this morning and the topic was ‘Bad Hair Days’ ~ so l am joining in and snapped this pic. of me in the bathroom moments ago. Every day my hair ends up like this; l’m a scrunchy mum – busy with life and family. Truthfully l should probably go with a shorter style as my hair tends to annoy me hanging around my face.
I have always been a bit of a Tomboy that way ~ l don’t do nails, makeup, earrings, handbags and for that matter hair! I walk around the house barefoot, garden without gloves and cut my own fringe when it needs it. I’ve also had a few perms in the past ~ not again! One time Mel just looked at me, burst into tears and said, “Your so ugly mum ~ you look like a poodle!” I have had two other bad perms as well; one that singed my hair to the scalp ~ l had a much larger forehead than usual for a while. The other frizzed terribly- l tried to wash and comb it out- that just made it worse. ☺
My wonderful sister is coming home to visit soon from Australia and she is a good Hairdresser ~ she said that she wants to do my hair and is bringing over some highlight packs, etc. I am looking forward to that and will blog the ‘Do’ when it’s done.
For me a bad hair day is everyday but ask me if l care??? LoL
Too much to do, too little time ~ l feel like the Roadrunner, beep beep!!
This photo is of me when l started school ~ l was only 4yrs.old. Don’t you think l look like a wee boy?? My mum really had my hair short and the school uniform was shirt, tie and grey jumper which didn’t help.
Bests to all.

crikey I was sure that was a picture of J until I read your post, ma mum gave me a similar bowl haircut at that age as well!
Poor girl, I looked also when I come to scholl. Short hair is easy for parents!
Sigrun
ohhhh...Sammy looks just like you!!!
:-D
Thanks for the link! So glad you played. My hair hasn't been long enough for a ponytail in 35 or 40 yrs!
Such an adorable glimpse of little you!
(Randi does this every month, hope you play again! You should put your link in at her site)
My hair has finally grown out from years of very short cuts...which always seem well and good at the time but then get so boring. Which is not to say that I have major coiffing skills. I'm wicked good with a pony tail, though.
My hair is in a scrunchy too!!!It's quick, it's easy....We are so much alike. :)
Like the hair a lot better as a mum, than I did the way your mum did it! ~ jb///
Since I began baby sitting my grandson I've had my naturally curly hair cut short and I love it -- wash and go! My kind of hair! Tomboy here, too...forever barefoot and gardening bare-handed, too. I love the photo of you as a tiny wee lass...what a little doll you were! Talking about looking like a boy there, I grew up with 3 brothers and my mom used to chop my hair off at the beginning of each summer almost as short as theirs was, tho she stopped short of giving me a buzz cut, haha! I never did figure out all the girly-girl stuff...I'm plain and natural all the way. Silver hair, no make up or jewelry, no painted toes or rings in my nose. Just me.
I'm a tomboy too and 2 years ago I cut my hair off and I love it...wash & go and never a bad hair day.
I must admit...I did have beautiful long hair, but it no longer fit my lifestyle.
With my long hair, give me a windy day and it's a bad hair day! lol When I'm staying around the house, my hair is always in a ponytail but I let it loose when I go out...don't ask me why, just a quirk of mine I guess! lol I've been busy catching up on everybody's posts and you guys sure have been keeping me busy reading!!! I'll do my Niagara Falls post afterwards...might take me all day! lol *hugs*
that school picture, you have that expression on your face that says 'I know my parents are only taking this so they can drag it out in a few years and show it to my prospective boyfriends'
sure, you'll be doing the same to your own kids. . .ha
I love four-year-old you! - so sweet!!
I have recently given up my scrunchie habit, after my younger sister (10 years younger) strongly hinted to me that this was unfashionable by giving me a box of those plastic-y elastic bands, which are supposed to not damage hair. Personally, I find scrunchies more comfortable. I may have to revert to them anyway - no point being mutton dressed as lamb, right?!
I can't wait to see the photo of you with your new 'do'!
I haven't much to say as I have no hair. I burr it down every chance I get. Not that I'm recommending that or anything....:)
thanks for commenting on my blog.
I have just now put a kind of scrunchie thing in my hair to keep it up and am happy to find my hair has finally grown long enough to do this!! I usually have short hair and prefer it. But I thought I would grow it long for the last time in my life!!!
LMBFBO
sis if only you could see me now, twins lol. Ashley is always getting annoyed at me for pinching her scrunchies lol will have to go shopping for some for us when I come over lol ; )
I thought the picture was Sam! How very cute you were. I love it! Yes, doing hair is a pain. Mine has always been short. Always wanted it long as a girl, but Mum always kept it short, and pinned to the side with a bobbypin....not cute! I lived vicariously through my girls...they both always had long hair. Kylie cut hers short when she got older, but Kathy's is still long. Oh, poor thing.....I'm laughing about Mel saying "You're so ugly Mum...you look like a poodle". LOL
