I love to go a wandering

Yesterday felt like a ‘day and a half’ to me! A regular days load plus a few extras thrown in for good measure.

Early morning l had to drop boxes off down at G’s work - unfortunately there was a torrential downpour at the time! That woke us all up :)

Next ‘M’ had an appointment at the dentist to get her braces put on - first appointment of the day. Later they fell off! I am trying to get in touch with the dentist this morning.

Around 9:30am yesterday- ‘S’ and l went to the supermarket and he wandered off down his favourite aisle to get his ‘luckybag’ but then took a wrong turn at the end and couldn’t find me again! Two minutes later there was an announcement for ‘S’s’ mum to come down to the service desk- arghh. He was fine and happily talking with some of the ladies that he and l knew well. Perhaps this happening was a good thing- he will think a bit more before leaving my side and l was pleased that he knew how to ask for assistance.
It was still pouring outside as we packed the ‘messages’ into the car.

The afternoon was just as busy but easier going. I drove my mum around as she got her errands done and we went to the market. I was pleased to get some fresh fish for dinner. The catch came down from Fraserburgh at 4am and it was delicious!!

Although there are around 280 ports, harbours and creeks around the UK where fish is landed, the major fishing ports in the UK in terms of value of fish landed are:
1 Peterhead - chiefly haddock, cod, monkfish, mackerel, nephrops, herring.
2 Lochinver - blue ling, ling, nephrops.
3 Fraserburgh - haddock, herring, mackerel, nephrops.

Later on l bought an old nautical parallel ruler for chart plotting. It’s a nice older piece that l thought would look good beside our shelf of boats. I looked it up online and found the same one HERE. Surely they won’t get that price though?! The ruler just needs a good scrub as does the bookcase :) It's on my list of 'things to do'.

In honour of St. David’s Day, l have posted a photograph of my first wee daffodil.
Waving hello to my Welsh friends, Marion & Weird Bunny!!
Keep well all.
The cheerful harbingers of spring ~ they brighten up your borders, containers and spirit with their nodding heads.
The poem by William Wordsworth HERE is an old one but a good one ~ a favourite of my Dad's and mine :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

D and M both had braces when younger- the ones that show at the front with wire through. These ones M got the other day are invisible braces- they are wired behind the teeth and fell off the back two molars. M didn't think they put on enough glue and what was there got pushed off as it was a tight fit- so the story goes-lol.
ThanX all for your kind comments

Loved the photo of the daffodil, I can only grow jonquils here they seem to tolerate the sub tropical climate Ok. My sister in Melbourne has daffodils, all manner of "English" spring bulbs as well as Lilacs. We do seem to like the same poetry as you have mentioned before. Daffodils is one of my favs. Bad luck about the braces.
Cheers and hugs Margaret

A very happy birthday to your dad! My dad and I love that poem too...we always quote it to each other :)
Goodness, braces falling off, a (temporarily) lost boy, pouring rain....what a day! But fresh fish for dinner (oh, what I'd give!) and seeing your mum (again, a real blessing to be able to)...and finding the ruler....and the lovely daffodil in your garden. It sounds like a mostly good day, after all. :) xox

Happy Birthday to your Dad!!
and to me a daffodil is a March flower that very often bloomed in Feb in Ky if the weather got warm enough...they don't show up here in Ohio until April...sigh...
I'm off to read the poem!!
:-D

They fell off! Oh no! Hope all is well with that...and we've all gone through the separated-in-the-store scary bit, but yes, it'll make him watch you just a bit closer! Nice flower photo, can't wait to plant my garden, it's under the 4 feet of snow out there....(ps I went to read the Wellies song, so funny! Love it, I could hear Billy Connelly singing it too!)
