Tennis Tournament & Maturity

Melissa did really well at the tennis tournaments - held behind the castle house this year.
She won two silver medals and one gold - the gold trophy was for Singles.
Her strategy: just having fun.
Truth: at 6ft she can hit those tennis balls high and deep – watch out!
I found out later (not from Mel) that she threw a game for a boy who was not doing so well - some teachers at the Grammar had been quite impressed with this. She used her left hand instead; even though her friends thought she was mad to do it.
I am very proud of Melissa for being so kind hearted and thoughtful of his feelings. Every mum wants their kids to grow up and do well in the world but as a mother l am also concerned that my kids use discretion and show care.
Well done Mel.

Congratulations Melissa, both on your wins but more importantly on your sportsmanship. No wonder your Mum is so proud of you.

Brag, lady brag! Modesty has no place in the athletic arena.

Isn't it wonderful when we get these signs that our children just may, indeed and after all, be turning out as we hoped? Congratulations to Melissa and especially to Mum!

When our children do things like this, we can pat ourselves on the back and say "job well done":-) Means we raised them right and they DID listen to some of the things we taught them! lol What a beautiful and loving daughter you've brought up...I don't know her, yet I'm even proud of her:-)

Very well done. I think worrying about how our kids will turn out is just part of the job.

When we get to see them do something that is thoughtfull like this is just warms the heart.
